1. Care guide for your extensions
Our hair has been carefully selected according to high quality standards and processed in gentle production processes. Hairoyal© only offers 100% Remy human hair and thus guarantees that all hair has been processed in the correct direction of growth. This is the only way to ensure a long wearing time and easy combing. Nevertheless, all extensions require special care, as they are no longer supplied by the scalp (e.g. with sebum during daily brushing), as is the case with your own hair.
Shampooing
Brush your hair well before washing. Wash your hair with special care and not upside down, so as not to unnecessarily burden the joints. Use only extension care products, which contain little to no alcohols, silicones, acids, oils or wheat proteins, which could soften the keratin. After each wash, a conditioner (e.g. Hairoyal Conditioner) should be usedand every now and then a keratin cure. Gently squeeze the hair with a towel without rubbing it.
Carefully sort the damp strands and gently comb through them with an extension brush without tearing it! Never comb or brush your hair when it is completely wet! If it is difficult to comb, please put a detangling spray(e.g. Hairoyal Argan Spray) in the lengths. Always blow-dry the joints briefly, even if you let your hair air dry.
Brushing/ combing
Sort the strands once a day by running your fingers between the junctions along the scalp. Never comb or brush your hair when it is completely wet!
Corrugated and curly extensions should not be completely brushed through every day, the use of a coarse-toothed comb is better. It should only be brushed out before and after shampooing.
Brush smooth extensions in the morning and evening, holding the strands at the hairline and combing out the lengths. Also brush over the joints.
Always use a special extension brush (recommendation: Hairoyal professional extensions brush)! Don't tear or tug! Always brush the tips first, then the middle part and finally the roots.
Styling
There are no limits to what you can do if you handle your hair with care. You can also use hot rollers or straighteners (not for synthetic extensions), we recommend the use of heat protection. Please brush out touped hair before going to bed.
Sleep
To avoid unnecessary friction between the scalp and bedding, simply braid your hair into a braid before going to bed.
Leisure activities
Basically, you are not restricted in your activities with the extensions. However, hair can be damaged by: sauna sessions; brine baths; steam baths; Chlorine and sea water.
Here you should take special care to heart and, if necessary, tie up the hair.
Dyeing / Bleaching / Perms
These treatments should only be performed by an extensionsspecialist to ensure that the strands and junctions are not affected by the chemical processes.
After the process, no guarantee is given on the structure, hair color and durability of the extensions!
Cleaning cut
At least every 4 - 6 weeks, a so-called "cleaning cut" should be made, in which the hair that has fallen out, which is stuck in bonding, should be cut away. If this is not done, matting between the bonding and the hairline has to be expected.
Clip-on wefts
Remove the hairpiece before showering or bathing. Clean the hair regularly by gently moving it back and forth in a small basin or container with a little water and shampoo. A little conditioner, which you also rinse under clear water afterwards, is also very good for the hair. Rinse thoroughly from the roots to the tips. Lightly dab the hairpiece or wrap it in a towel roll and dry it with a hair dryer (lukewarm) or in the air.
We hope you enjoy your new extensions, please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!
2. Attachment of bonding extensions
The preparation
If you are doing hair extensions for the first time, please be sure to plan plenty of time. To take a few breaks as well, you would have to plan 4 to 5 hours. Your own hair should have a minimum length of 10 cm so that the joints are not visible.
The hair is washed thoroughly before extension, preferably with a so-called cleansing or exfoliating shampoo, but a mild shampoo (for normal hair) can also be used in a pinch. Do not use any care, conditioner or similar afterwards, as this could smooth the hair too much and the bonding could slip later. Then blow-dry the hair completely, it must not be damp or clammy under any circumstances, as moisture causes the bonding to swell from the inside and become porous. Allow the hair to cool briefly.
The breakdown
Divide the hair into 5 parts, starting with the large neck area. Basically, a few centimeters are to be left free around the contours in order not to make the bondings visible even with updos.
So they start in the lowest neckline and work in horizontal, offset rows from bottom to top (example: In regular layered masonry, the stones are always layered with offset from row to row). Between each row, 1 cm should be left free. If the joints are placed too close to each other, they rub against each other and the hair can become knotted.
The rows are also loosely set above the ears by always leaving one lane free.
Once you're done with this game, start with the upper back of the head. Loose rows are also set here, i.e. one strand is left free between the individual strands. This also applies to the two side sections at the temples.
If you have very thin hair, you can also have only half strands worked in the upper parts by carefully dividing the bonding vertically beforehand. This creates a very natural effect.
The last part above the forehead to the vertebra is only covered with single strands, as the joints can hardly be covered there.
Attaching
After carefully dividing the hair andexposing the lowest row of work (the upper hairs in the same section, of course, must also be pinned up), use a stem comb to divide the first strand, preferably 1 by 1 cm, and pull this strand away from the head.
Now bend the spacer a little apart at the top and carefully push the strand of your own hair through. The spacer is now attached to the upper part with a small clamp, as close to the head as possible, if necessary attach a clamp at the top and bottom. Make sure that only hair from the separated strand is in the stencil opening, otherwiseit will pull unpleasantly afterwards or the strand will warp in one direction.
Now take the bonding strand and place it over your own hair strand, with the bonding about 1 - 1.5 cm away from the scalp. (Please do not attach the extension strand too close to your head, otherwise there will be too much pull on the hair roots and this can be painful when lying down.)
Keep the two strands as close to the head as possible, that is, at an acute angle. If the angle is too large, an incorrect pull ratio is created and the hairs in the upper part of the strand hold the whole load, while the lower hairs bend. You can rotate the strand of hair a little (about 45 degrees) so that it can be better inserted into the stencil, but during the actual application with keratin it must not be rotated, which would make it very difficult to remove later.
If you now hold the two strands firmly close to your head with your left hand, take the heat tongs and heat the bonding from both sides (top and bottom) until it becomes soft and flat and throws small bubbles. The keratin must be completely melted through. Now put the pliers away again, reach under the bonding with your thumb and fold the bonding from the right with your right index finger once under your own hair strand, change hands, then fold it over once on the left and press it down. The own hair is thus "hammered in" and securely sheathed. Compression pliers are advantageous for this purpose, so that the bonding gets sufficient pressure shortly before cooling and is sealed airtight.
Use the compression pliers at the top and bottom of the bonding to apply short pressure and thus close the keratin connection securely and firmly. This extra operation allows you to achieve the greatest possible durability of the bondings, as you cannot achieve this pressure with your fingers.
When you have turned over the heated bonding, you can also gently twist it a little between your thumb and index finger, applying pressure to it. Hold your hand towards your head and fasten the bonding from top to bottom. In any case, it is important that the bonding is tightly closed at the top and bottom so that no water or sebum can penetrate later.
If there are still white spots on the bonding, the keratin has not been completely heated and you have to heat it again with the pliers. Even if there are bumps or rough or sharp spots on the bonding, it must be warmed up again briefly and smoothed with your fingers.
After that, the bonding should not be longer than before. The keratin connection usually becomes too long if you move it during fastening. Before attaching, please shorten the keratin plate so that it is not longer than the width of your pliers tip. This allows you to heat the entire plate at the 1st press. Then, if the connection is to your satisfaction, even and smooth, you can loosen the clamps and carefully pull off the spacer and start with the next strand.
After renewal
The hair must not be washed for 24 hours (preferably 48 hours) after the extension, so that the keratin is guaranteed to have hardened!
In order to achieve the most natural result possible, it is recommended to step the hairstyle a little or thin the hair a little, this works very well with a slicer or a razorcomb. The hair is not shortened, but only graded downwards, as the hair naturally becomes a little thinner downwards. If you have no experience with grading, it is better to do it by a hairdresser. However, if your own hair is longer anyway and there are no hard lines, slicing is not essential.
Please always pay attention to intensive care to keep your extension beautiful for a long time. A cleaning cut every 4 weeks is also strongly recommended to cut off the naturally falling hairs so that no matting occurs during bonding.
Always comb the extended hair with an extension brush (not when wet) and never tear. Corrugated/curly extensions should only be combed with a coarse-toothed comb and less often brushed through completely.
3. Attachment of tape extensions
The good preparation for the application of the tape extensions includes the exact separation of the individual parts of your own hair. Think about how many parts you want to divide your own hair into. (See "Applying Bonding Extensions" - We recommend 4 to 5 sections of hair.)
The best way to do this is to use a needle comb and several hair clips for fastening.
As with extensions or bonding extensions, the area in question must be very neatly prepared, as the strands are glued on and therefore all the hairs below the adhesive surface must be correctly aligned.
Now think carefully about where you want to start with the application of the tape extensions. (We recommend working from left to right.)
Variant 1
Lift a thin strand of your own hair, place the first strand underneath, and then glue the second strand over it to fit exactly.
Now squeeze both tapes slightly.
Variant 2
Glue a strand to your own hair and lift it with it. Now place the second strand underneath it exactly to fit. Now squeeze both tapes slightly. Always leave about 5 - 10 mm of space between the hairline and the tape.
Always make sure to leave some contour (about 2 cm) to the sides so that the hair can be tied up or pinned up without the connection being visible.
It is also important to ensure that there is still enough top coat on the top of the head to cover the joints.
Important
Now take a straightener and use it to rework the hairline by heating the tape connection between the ceramic plates and thus activating the glue for a few seconds. Now put the straightener aside again.
It is best to use tape pliers when squeezing. This guarantees an airtight attachment of the tape extensions.
When you are done with the first section of hair, remove another section of hair from the hair you have put away and proceed as described until all the tape extensions have been attached.
Tips
Once the application is complete, the hair must not be washed for 48 hours and brushed heavily, as the glue has not yet completely hardened.
If possible, do not add care products, except mild shampoo, to the compounds, but only to the lengths of the hair. After shampooing, first blow dry the roots so that the joints do not soften.
4. Attachment and removal of microring extensions
Divide the individual sections of hair as usual (see "Attaching bonding extensions"). Then start with the attachment in the neck area and always divide a single strand of your own hair.
Thread one of the microrings over the special needle and then pull the strand of hair through the microring with the help of the needle.
If desired, you can shorten the bonding of the microring extensions by half.
Now thread the bonding into the microring from below.
Position the microring and bonding in such a way that a distance of approx. 1 to 2 cm is maintained from the scalp. In this way, you avoid too much pulling on your own hair.
Now take the Microring pliers and squeeze the Microring firmly.
Repeat the process until all extensions have been attached to your own hair.
After all the strands have been attached, comb the hair thoroughly with the help of an extension brush.
To remove the microring extensions, use the microring pliers to open the rings to bend the individual microrings wider. After that, you can remove the strands and renew them.
We also recommend a regular cleaning cut for this method of application.
5. Attachment & removal of weaves with microrings
Prepare your own hair as usual, with washing and dividing. (See "Attaching Bonding Extensions").
After your own hair has been neatly divided and staked out, you should measure the width of the wefts. Now cut the weaves into the required widths and lay them out.
Now attach the first tresse to the desired place on the back of the head with the help of compartment clamps. The weaves should not slip during attachment and should be held as tightly as possible on the head.
Now take the Microrings, the Microring needle and the Microring pliers.
Now separate a strand of your own hair and extension hair. Make sure that the two strands are exactly on top of each otherand are of the same thickness. Now thread the two strands through the microring with the help of the microring needle (see "Attaching Microring Extensions").
A tip: You can thread several microrings onto the needle in advance, this will make your work easier.
After the hair has been carefully pulled through the ring, align the junction so that it is as close to the head as possible without tugging at your own hair. Then press the microring tightly together with the microring pliers.
A tip: For a better grip, 2 microrings can also be attached to each other on top of each other. Leave about 0.5 to 1 cm between the two rings.
Repeat the process along the entire weave piece. A distance of 1 to 1.5 cm between the individual microrings should be maintained.
After that, proceed to the next section of your own hair until the hair extension is complete.
Removing the braids is easy. To do this, open the Microrings with the Microring pliers and carefully pull them out of your own hair.
A tresse should be reinserted every 4 to 6 weeks, as the joints are very wide and can therefore quickly become visible. A cleaning cut is therefore rarely necessary.
6. Attachment & removal of clip-on weave sets
To attach, pin up your entire hair with a few styling clips, leaving a horizontal row only in the lower part of the neck.
Clip in the first trek, starting from one side to the other side of the back of the head. Push the tresses teeth properly into your own hair and then clip it shut. Check the fit of the counter by gently pulling on it.
Make sure that approx. 3 cm of contour to the neck is left free so that the tresse is not visible even with updos.
A tip: If you have very fine or straight hair, it is recommended to tupe your own hair a little at the roots for a better hold of the clips.
Now loosen the hairdressing clips at the top of the head and lower a compartment of your own hair (4 cm) again, so that a new horizontal row is created parallel to the lower bridle. Now repeat the process two to three more times as above.
To achieve an even more natural effect, you can use a stem comb to pull a few of your own strands of hair between the wefts, so the hair mixes better.
Now you can clip on the narrower weaves near the temples and at the top of the head, so you can achieve more volume in the side area.
Please make sure that there is sufficient contour distance to the face and that there is still enough hair to cover. So you should not place the braids too high up on the head.
When all the weaves fit well, you can gently comb and style the hair.
Removal is simple and is done in the same order as attaching. Please comb the braids afterwards and remove any individual hairs that have wrapped around the clips.
Now you can stow away the wefts and attach them again and again if you feel like long hair.
7. Attaching eyelashes with the Hairoyal Holiday Kit
First, remove the old eyelash or glue residue as much as possible.
Then please clean and dry your own eyelashes carefully, preferably with grease/oil-free make-up remover. Put cleanser on a cotton pad and apply thoroughly.
Then select the type of eyelash you want from the holiday kit. Apply a small drop of glue to a smooth surface, e.g. on the lid of a plastic bowl or on a jar.
Use pointed tweezers to pick up the eyelashes and dip the nodule/root of the foreign eyelashes well into the glue.
Now separate the eyelashes to which the artificial eyelashes are to be attached, for example with another pair of tweezers.
Then stroke the root of the artificial eyelash, which is wetted with glue, along the eyelash to be glued, which must be well coated with glue.
When this is done, please wait a short time and place the artificial eyelashes on the adhesive surface.
If necessary, you can put more eyelashes, but do not allow them to overlap.
When all eyelashes are glued, please wait a few minutes and keep your eyes as still as possible.
If a drop of the glue has gotten on the skin or the lower lash line, please remove it with an oil-soaked cotton swab.
The glue is harmless and can be used by a layman.
One of the most common mistakes happens by using too little glue. The area of the eyelashes must be really well coated to ensure the greatest possible durability.
Tip: If an eyelash curler is at hand, it can be used after cleaning and before application.
8. Removal of bonding extensions
Divide the client's hair in advance, as you would when attaching the extensions, to create a work surface.
If you are a little more sensitive, it is recommended to wear thin disposable gloves so that you do not have direct contact with the chemical remover solution.
Take the first strand and press the bonding several times with the remover tongs to "crack" it a little.
Hold a cotton ball under the bonding, put some remover solution on it and wait a minute for the solution to take effect. Then press the bonding several times again with the pliers until it dissolves into pieces and you can carefully pull out the extension strand.
Remaining keratin residues can simply be combed out of your own hair with a small, fine-toothed comb. Simply wet stubborn keratin residues again with the remover solution and comb it out.
This is how you work your way through the complete extension.
Then wash / shampoo your own hair thoroughly several times. Now a new extension can be inserted after the hair has been completely blow-dried.
If some bondings are very hard and you can't get any further with the remover gel, you can also try isopropyl alcohol from the pharmacy if necessary. However, since this is very aggressive in its pure form, please do not apply this solution to your own hair!
Please allow sufficient time for the removal of the extensions.
Do not tear or pull the hair!
Only a gentle and gentle removal guarantees the healthy preservation of your own hair.
9. Rebonding Keratin Bonding Extensions
First, please remove all old keratin residues with a remover solution or cut it off. For people who are a little more sensitive, it is recommended to wrap so-called silicone pads around the fingers in order to be able to grasp the heated keratin better.
In two operations
When pre-bonding, please work over a tabletop where you can support your forearms a little and thus keep your hands more steady. Then take the strand of hair to be bonded with your left hand and make sure that as much hair as possible fits evenly at the front.
Now place the keratin plate on the upper end of the strand and hold it very lightly with just your thumbnail, it doesn't matter if a few ends of the hair are not covered.
Now grab the pliers with your right hand, put them on carefully (be careful with your fingers!) and briefly heat the keratin so that it softens and increases its area.
Now put the pliers away again and hammer in the strand, i.e. bend the keratin once to the right and once to the left around the strand and press it down (it is best to squeeze it slightly with compression forceps).
It is not advisable to "twirl" the bonding, as it is difficult to attach later. A flat shape is more suitable, especially those who work with ultrasound. The keratin must be well heated beforehand so that the ends of the hair are properly pressed into the mass, otherwise they will fall out of the bonding. If in doubt, heat the keratin mixture again and squeeze it well.
Now the extensions are prepared and can be attached.
In a single operation
Another option is rebonding and attaching in one operation, but this requires some practice and should first be tried on a practice head.
Basically, the procedure is the same as for normal attachment, i.e. first divide the strand of your own hair and secure it in the template.
Now pick up the extension strand and place it over your own hair strand, do not let go. Now take up the bonding with your other hand, place about 1 - 2 cm from the hairline on the beginning of the extension strand and secure it with your thumbnail. Now take the heat tongs to hand and stop. The moment the pliers touch the keratin, it can no longer slip away and you pull your thumb away a bit before you squeeze the pliers completely.
Now melt the keratin, turn it over and press it down or twist it. If there are irregularities in the bonding, heat again until it is nice and smooth and has no more white spots.
With this method, make sure that the strand is kept as close to the head as possible, please read the instructions for attaching extensions!
10. Reuse of tape extensions
Gently loosening tape extensions is very easy with the Tape Spray Remover from hairoyal:
After about 4 to 8 weeks, tape extensions have outgrown - an increase is required. With a bit of tact and the help of a friend for the places at the back of the head, the up/reuse of the tapes is possible without any problems. Spray or drizzle sufficient remover liquid from above between the adhesive strips. Massage the solvent in briefly and let it soak in. Separate the adhesive strips from each other with the help of a stem comb, then carefully pull the strand of hair out of your own hair. If this cannot be solved effortlessly, repeat the process.
Remove glue residues from the tape extensions with a handle comb and remover. Glue residues in your own hair can be removed with our U-Argan Oil. After removing all tape extensions, carefully wash your own hair several times with a deep cleansing shampoo. Attention: The hair must not contain any adhesive residues, otherwise the durability of the raised tapes will be impaired.
Tape extensions newly provided with stripes:
Tapes that have already been worn can be re-glued very easily. For retaping, tape removers, strips and tweezers are needed as an aid. Carefully peel off the adhesive tapes from the extensions. Remove all glue residues with the help of tape remover and stem comb. Clean the adhesive surface of the extensions with the tape remover - then let it dry completely. Then press the new strip firmly on the tape - do not touch the adhesive surface of the tape with your fingers. The newly glued tape extensions can be reinserted as usual.
& all this without any heat with the Hairoyal tape strips!
11. Application of blind tapes
With the Hairoyal blind tapes, you can incorporate individual strands of tape in no time at all. It serves as a counterpart due to the one-sided adhesive surface.
At the beginning, divide your own hair into individual parts as usual. (See "Attaching Bonding Extensions")
Variant 1:
Take a thin strand of your own hair and glue the blind tape to the hair from below. Now place the desired strand of tape on the blind tape.
Variant 2:
Glue a strand of the tape extensions to your own hair and lift it with the help of the tape strand. Now attach the blind tape underneath.
Make sure that both glue points are exactly on top of each other and that no ends protrude. Then close the joint point, preferably with tape extension pliers, airtight.
Note: If you use our Hairoyal tape strips and blind tapes together, you do not need heat.
