Application
Bonding extensions are a popular method for long-lasting hair extensions. They are attached to natural
hair using keratin bondings and heat. First, the hair is thoroughly cleaned and sectioned. Then, the extension
strands are placed about 1 cm away from the scalp and bonded to fine sections of natural hair using a heat
clamp or an ultrasonic device. The melted keratin is shaped with fingers to create a secure and discreet
connection. This process is repeated strand by strand until the desired fullness and length are achieved.
Hair Care
Proper care is essential for a long lifespan of up to eight months. Only special extension shampoos and
conditioners without silicones or oils should be used to prevent the bondings from loosening. When washing,
avoid flipping the hair upside down, as this can lead to tangling. A soft-bristle extension brush helps
gently detangle the hair without stressing the bondings. Additionally, using a heat protection spray before
styling with hot tools is recommended, and direct contact between the bondings and a straightener or curling
iron should be avoided. At night, a braided hairstyle or a silk pillowcase can protect the extensions
from tangling and breakage.
